It’s not a lot of variety. My lunches are usually a combination of somen with a meat dish and salad or a sandwich of sorts.
My favorite lunch was the time when I had stir-fried pork with the leftover rice and miso soup. It was the most enjoyable lunch I’ve had all month. Of course I ‘paid the price’ making the effort to cook the food in the morning and having my work clothes smell of pork for the whole day.
Sometimes I miss the pre-married days when my mum used to pack my work lunches. She eventually bought me the thermal food flask which I have now used to bring my stir fried pork to work.
